Beyond the Beach: A Journey Through Time, Taste and Tides

When you travel somewhere new, there’s a temptation to pack in as much as possible. And why not? A beach vacation doesn’t have to be just about sand between your toes.

Our Andaman adventure begins not on the islands, but in Hyderabad — the city of Nizams, slow-cooked meat, and ancient secrets. It’s a brief but rich stopover, thanks to flight connections, and we make the most of it. On a guided food walk, you’ll wander through narrow lanes heavy with the scent of biryani, kebabs sizzling on open flames, and sweet shops stacked with jewels of syrup-soaked treats. Along the way, you’ll hear stories of opulent dynasties, stolen diamonds, and Sufi saints. Every bite, a bit of history.

From there, you’ll fly into Havelock Island — your first real taste of island life. The pace slows, the colours shift. Sea and sky stretch endlessly, and you’ll feel your shoulders drop. For divers, the reefs hold coral gardens and slow-swimming marvels. If you’re not certified, we’ll help you get started. Prefer to stay dry? Spend your mornings at Kalapathar Beach, your evenings kayaking through still backwaters — maybe even under a starlit, bioluminescent glow.

Island-hopping is the true joy of the Andamans. With a private charter, the sea becomes your highway. Circle Barren Island — the only known active volcano in the Indian subcontinent, rising from the sea like a secret, or stop by Neil Island for quiet shores and sunset views. Jump in when the water calls, snorkel, fish, or simply float. It’s therapy, just saltier.

Back on firm ground, explore Port Blair’s colonial echoes. Walk the solemn halls of the Cellular Jail, once a British prison, now a monument to India’s freedom fighters. Then take a ferry to Ross Island, where banyan trees swallow old British buildings whole. At Chidiyatapu, where forest meets the sea, pause to watch the sun dip below the horizon.

On your way home, there’s one final chapter. A quick stop in Delhi takes you to Agra for a sunset at Agra Fort and sunrise at the Taj Mahal. Wander through Fatehpur Sikri – a tale of two cities that merge effortlessly into one grandiose memory. In Delhi, explore Mughal marvels like Humayun’s Tomb and Qutb Minar, then cap it all off with a splash of city luxe.

Between the commas and periods is a wealth of flavours, scents, views and activities that can only be experienced, and not described. By the end of your vacation, you’ll have tasted empires, floated over coral kingdoms, and stood where history whispers.
